Code of Conduct

All attendees of Paws and Prairies, Inc. events are assumed to have read, understood and agreed to the Code of Conduct as laid out below. Violation may result in badge revocation, ejection from the event without a refund, and/or potential bans from future events. Paws and Prairies, Inc. reserves the right to amend these rules at any time without prior notice or posting.

 

This is not an exhaustive list of do's and don'ts. Any behavior that interferes with the operations of Paws and Prairies or harms its reputation is strictly forbidden. This includes, but is not limited to, its relations and reputation with our community, municipality, venue, or the public. This also includes interfering with or disregarding instructions or guidance from Paws and Prairies staff during the performance of their duties.

Indemnification

By accepting or using a badge to attend Paws and Prairies, all attendees agree to indemnify and hold harmless Paws and Prairies, Inc. from any and all claims for personal injury, property damage, or other losses arising from their own activities or conduct at the event, even if such claims result in whole or in part from the negligence of Paws and Prairies, Inc. or its representatives.

General Behavior and Prohibited Conduct

Attendees must conduct themselves with respect towards other attendees, Paws and Prairies staff, hotel staff, hotel and P&P property and the general public. Prohibited behaviors include, but are not limited to:

  • Harassment of any kind, including but not limited to verbal, sexual, stalking, intimidation, unwanted photography or recording, discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion or any other federally protected class. Unwanted physical contact is not tolerated (Fursuit does not equal consent for example).

  • Fighting, threats, assault or any behavior that endangers the safety of attendees, staff, venue staff, or the general public will not be tolerated and will result in immediate removal.

  • Theft, vandalism or any deliberate damage to individual or venue property.

  • Hate speech or any action that creates a hostile environment.

  • Attendees are expected to adhere to all rules set by P&P, and the host venue.

Badge and Attendance

All attendees of Paws and Prairies will be required to present government issued photo ID at registration which clearly shows their full legal name and date of birth. Examples include state issued photo ID, drivers licence, passport, military identification, etc

 

All attendees must visibly wear their official convention badge at all times in convention spaces, and must show it upon request to convention staff, door check volunteers, security, or hotel staff. Failure to display a badge may result in denial of entry, or removal.

 

Paws and Prairies reserves the right to deny or revoke attendance at any time for any reason. Should attendance be revoked the attendee is required to surrender their badge to staff and leave the event space. No refund or compensation will be offered in the event of revocation.

 

Should a badge be lost or damaged it may be replaced for $5, subject to availability and identity verification.

 

Should finding unofficial duplication or alterations may result in further consequences, leading up to removal and/or potential ban.

Refund Policy

No refunds shall be offered after the pre-registration period has closed. Should you be unable to attend, your registration shall apply to the next convention. Please reach out to our email at support@pawsandprairies.com for processing.

Minor Attendance Policy

Attendees aged 16 to 17 years old may register and pick up badges without a parent or guardian if they provide an acceptable government issued photo ID and a notarized Parental Consent Form (available on our website).

 

Attendees aged 15 years and younger must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times in the event space. The parent or guardian must register and supervise the minor.

 

Minors are not permitted in 18+ events or areas. Minors who attempt to gain entry to these events or areas may be subject to badge revocation and removal.

Apparel and Attire Policy

Any attire worn in event or hotel space before 9:00 PM must remain PG-rated. Attire may be PG-13 from 9:00 PM to 4:00 AM. For example, kink related gear such as but not limited to Pup Hoods may be worn after 9:00 PM. This policy is subject to staff discretion.

 

Attendees are required to wear appropriate attire including opaque tops, pants and footwear in all public areas.

 

Clothing, accessories, or other visible items displaying political messages, slogans, candidate names, party symbols or other items likely to cause disruption or offense to attendees are not permitted in event spaces. This includes but is not limited to campaign gear or symbols of hate speech.

Weapons and Props Policy

No real weapons, or items that could be reasonably mistaken for a weapon are permitted. This includes, but is not limited to, firearms (either real or replica), bladed weapons such as swords, or any toy or weapon that shoots projectiles.

 

Items such as foam swords may be allowed if pre-approved by security and used safely. Should they be used in an unsafe manner, staff may request the removal of the item from event space.

 

Refusal to follow this policy will result in ejection from the event.

Alcohol and Substance Policy

The serving of alcohol to any individual under the age of 21 is strictly prohibited. All spaces in which alcohol is served or consumed must verify that every person attending the party is 21 years of age or older by checking government-issued photo IDs. Any party found serving alcohol to or allowing consumption of alcohol by anyone under the age of 21 will be shut down immediately and will be subject to dismissal from the convention for the year and/or subsequent years.

 

Smoking, vaping, and/or the use or sale of illegal substances in event space, hotel rooms or hotel property is prohibited. Hotel rules are required to be followed.

 

Attendees found in violation of this policy will be ejected from the event and reported to local authorities.

Room Parties

Room parties are required to follow all hotel rules. This includes, but is not limited to, capacity limits, excessive noise limits and the prohibition of illegal activities in rooms.

 

All parties at which alcohol is served or consumed must verify that every person attending the party is 21 years of age or older by checking government-issued photo IDs.

 

Any party found serving alcohol to or allowing consumption of alcohol by anyone under the age of 21 will be shut down immediately and will be subject to dismissal from the convention for the year and/or subsequent years.

 

Paws and Prairies, Inc. accepts no liability for any incident or action that occurs within private hotel rooms. Should any incident occur the individual(s) who have rented the room assume responsibility.

Service Animals

Working service animals are permitted in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Pets and emotional support animals are prohibited in all event spaces.

Media Policy

Professional media is not authorized at any P&P event without prior authorization. This includes, but is not limited to, photography, filming, interviews or any activity with the intent to broadcast, publish, or monetize.

 

This policy does not apply to social media recording, photography or interviews by attendees who are not considered professional media. Individual consent is required for all social media activities.

Prohibited Individuals

Individuals who appear on any state or federal sex offender registry are strictly prohibited from attending. Should any individual be identified and verified to P&P staff, registration will be permanently revoked and the individual will be removed from the premises.
